The Story of Sally Soupy
by Granny Porterfield

Sally Soupy is a well-worn doll who is much loved by her owner, Nancy Galloway. Since Nancy calls her her “bestest friend,” Sally imagines herself to be more than just a doll.

When Sally Soupy is injured by a naughty boy, a new doll is brought in to take her place.

About the Author

Rita Shryock Porterfield (“Granny” to her grandchildren) has enjoyed writing ever since she was a child. In college she was inducted into Chi Delta Phi, a national honorary literary sorority. Shortly after graduation from college she married and joined the workforce. It wasn’t until her retirement in 1981 that she resumed her writing. She has given reading at the local library, at her own retirement home, and at St. Mary’s College in Maryland. The House of the Babadoos is her first published children’s book. Now widowed, she lives in Maryland and enjoys spending time with her son and his family.
