by Beverly Austin Hanlin

It was a silent, dark night, when the shepherds of Bethlehem were watching over their sheep. All of a sudden, a great, luminous star appeared in the black sky, and the shepherds and their sheep gazed in awe at this wondrous appearance. How can a star be this bright? Why did it appear?

Little Lamb: A Christmas Story is a wonderful tale of the birth of Jesus on that beautiful night, and parents and children alike will yearn to find out why a little lamb was called to witness the birth of Jesus on what would be known as Christmas Day.

Beverly Austin Hanlin resides in Fork Union, Virginia. She was inspired to write this book so she could teach her grandchildren the Christmas story in a simple way, which is taught in “no better way than through the eyes of Little Lamb.” Beverly enjoys doing community service, making crafts, and working. She has been employed at Fork Union Military Academy for thirty-six years and has been a “mom” to thousands of students from around the world.

Reader Review
Her real inspiration for the story came from her son, Jay, who died at 18 of muscular dystrophy. “I called him my little lamb,” said Hanlin. “Writing this story has healed a wound.” Hanlin is wistful when speaking of her son but one senses the joy she feels in sharing this story with others.
