by Krassimira Popova

The language of poetry, the sensitivity, the evocative imagery, the tender and descriptive phrases and words, translates easily from any language the world over, and nowhere is this more evident than in Cry by Krassimira Popova, the talented Bulgarian poetess who makes the world her home.

Within these pages she has written of that which has touched her deeply; the people she has encountered, befriended, and worked with; the sights she has viewed and the experiences she has encountered as she has traveled on assignment for the United Nations Observer Mission in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Georgia. She speaks eloquently of her family; makes subtle, shaded references to those to whom she has dedicated her words; and reveals an intensely personal glimpse into an extremely private life through a language common to all mankind, the poetic language of the heart.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Krassimira Popova began working with the United Nations in 1991. She attended college both in her native Bulgaria and the United States, receiving a bachelor of science degree from Pacific Western University, Los Angeles, California.

A cancer survivor, Mrs. Popova is the mother of two children. In addition to caring for her family, she enjoys music, painting, literature, theater, opera, and sports, particularly soccer and basketball. Her previous poetry collection, Sun, is also available from Dorrance Publishing.
