Rousseau has served as president of Pi Lambda Theta (The International Educational Honor Society) Delta Epsilon Chapter and is a current member of the Association for Childhood Education. She also serves as the vice president for Technology on the PTA Council.

Recently, Classroom Connect awarded her Honorable Mention in the search for Internet Educator of the Year 2003.
