This book is a conversation between the main character, Baby Boo, and a voice. The voice represents God. Baby Boo describes his fear and frustration, which the voice then comforts. Throughout the story, Baby Boo questions the actions of others around him and confides in God intimately about his fear for his friend Cricket.
